Owner, DMD
Dr. Jordana Freitas is a distinguished dental professional dedicated to enhancing the health and happiness of her patients in Blairsville, GA and the surrounding North Georgia mountains. After graduating summa cum laude with a BS in Biology from Young Harris College — where she also competed as a lacrosse player — she continued her academic journey at the Dental College of Georgia (DCG), formerly known as the Medical College of Georgia (MCG). At DCG, Dr. Jo, as affectionately known by her peers, distinguished herself as a class officer while making significant contributions to the field through her published research in restorative dentistry, recognized by "Decisions in Dentistry
Dr. Jo's practice is built on airway-focused dentistry and a comprehensive commitment to addressing the root causes of sleep-disordered breathing, airway obstruction, and oral dysfunction across all ages.She believes that how a patient breathes profoundly impacts their sleep quality, growth, development, and overall wellness, and she is committed to providing whole-body, airway-centered care to the North Georgia community from infants to adults.
As a tongue tie (ankyloglossia) and lip tie provider, Dr. Jo is a graduate of the Tongue Tie Academy under renowned specialist Dr. Richard Baxter, training her to accurately diagnose and treat tongue and lip ties that can affect infant feeding, speech, airway development, and oral function. Using laser-assisted frenectomy — made possible through her laser safety certification with the Laser Institute of America (LIA). Dr. Jo offers precise, minimally invasive tongue tie and lip tie release for infants/children and adults.

As the only diplomate-trained dental sleep apnea provider in the area, Dr. Jo completed advanced training through the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine (AADSM) and offers oral appliance therapy as an effective, non-invasive treatment for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and sleep-disordered breathing.
Returning with enthusiasm to the North Georgia mountains, Dr. Jo, alongside her husband Tom, resides in Blairsville, GA. Beyond her professional endeavors, Dr. Jo can be found spending time on the lake, hiking the North Georgia mountains, cooking meals with her family, and exploring new destinations around the world. Dr. Jordana Freitas is privileged to practice dentistry in an environment tailored to patient needs, with a steadfast commitment to prioritizing their overall health and wellness.

Registered Dental Hygienist
Tammy's journey in dental hygiene began after graduating from Union County High School in 1985. She pursued her passion at Clayton State College in Morrow, GA, where she earned her degree. With over 35 years of experience under her belt, Tammy's dedication to her career shines through in every patient interaction. Building lasting relationships is at the heart of Tammy's work. Many of her patients have become like family to her, driving her commitment to providing top-notch care.Tammy's family extends beyond her professional life. She's a proud mother of four: Cooper, who, along with his wife Katie, recently welcomed her first granddaughter, Hayden. Corbin, married to Jaime, one of our dental assistants, adds to the family dynamic. Hannah, a recent graduate from Clemson University with a degree in Civil Engineering, and Hope, currently pursuing a nursing degree at the University of North Georgia. In her downtime, Tammy enjoys thrift shopping and cherishing moments with her loved ones. Her blend of professional expertise and genuine care enriches both our team and the experience of every patient who walks through our doors.
Cariann Anderson
Registered Dental Hygienist
Cariann (Busbee) Anderson, a native of Blairsville, Georgia, is passionate about her role as a dental hygienist at Family Dentistry of Blairsville. A 2022 spring graduate from Lanier Technical College, Cariann was named the “golden scaler” for not only excelling in the classroom but also for having the best clinical skills throughout her program. She is deeply passionate about serving others and contributing to the advancing field of dentistry. Cariann delights in cultivating relationships and enriching her knowledge to enhance patient care. She loves traveling to new places and trying new coffee shops with her husband, Nile, and their German short-haired pointer, Scout. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends and actively participates in her church's praise team, where she sings and plays the piano. Cariann is humbled and excited to work with the amazing team at Family Dentistry of Blairsville and to serve the people of her hometown.
Jaime PATTON
Practice Manager/Dental Assistant
Jaime Patton brings her expertise to Family Dentistry of Blairsville as one of our dedicated dental assistants and practice manager. Originally from Gainesville, GA, Jaime has seamlessly transitioned to life in Blairsville with her husband, Corbin Patton. She honed her skills at the University of North Georgia and furthered her education through the Nova Dental Assisting Program, graduating in 2019. Most recently, Jaime earned her Laser Safety Training certification through the Laser Institute of America (LIA), allowing her to support advanced laser procedures that promote greater comfort, precision, and faster healing for our patients. In her role as a practice manager, Jaime plays a key part in the daily operations of the office. Outside of work, Jaime finds joy in exploring new destinations, caring for her beloved pets, and cherishing moments with her loved ones. Her enthusiasm for her profession is matched only by her gratitude for the opportunity to continually enhance her skills within our practice. We're thrilled to have Jaime as part of our team, enriching the dental care experience for our patients every day.

Dental Assistant
Anita Key brings a wealth of experience and a warm spirit to our team at Family Dentistry of Blairsville. Settled in Murphy, NC, alongside her husband, Scott Key, Anita is deeply rooted in family values. She has two sons: Cameron (28), who is married to Kylee and has a grandson, Hudson, and Skyler (25), who is currently serving in the US Army. Having devoted over 30 years to dentistry, Anita's expertise is unparalleled. Beyond her professional accomplishments, Anita's heart beats for service, both to her faith and her community. Volunteering at the Women's Enrichment Center in Blairsville, GA, exemplifies her commitment to uplifting those in need. In her spare time, Anita enjoys boating and the captivating world of literature. Yet, one her greatest joys has been her becoming a Nana and sharing precious moments with grandson Hudson. Recently, Anita earned her Laser Safety Training certification through the Laser Institute of America (LIA), equipping her with the latest knowledge to safely and effectively incorporate laser technology into patient care—further enhancing the comfort and quality of treatments she provides. As Anita embarks on this new chapter with us, her enthusiasm is infectious. We are privileged to welcome such a compassionate and experienced individual to our practice.

Receptionist
Marla is our receptionist at Family Dentistry of Blairsville and the newest member of our team. Originally from Waycross, GA, she moved to Hiawassee in 2018, where she currently resides. Marla and her husband, Anthony, whom she married in November 2023, are active members in their church. Together, they have four children and a beloved four-legged daughter named Sheba. Marla’s welcoming demeanor and smiling face will make you feel right at home in our practice.
