Dr. Jordana C. Freitas, DMD (DR. Jo)
Owner, DMD
Dr. Jordana Freitas, received her BS in Biology from Young Harris
College where she graduated summa cum laude. She went on to attend the Dental College of Georgia (DCG), formally known as MCG, where she served her peers and patients as class officer. While at DCG, Dr. Jo, was published in "Decisions in Dentistry" for her research in restorative dentistry. After completing dental school, Dr. Jo and her husband Tom enthusiastically returned to the “enchanted valley”. Dr. Jo and her husband Tom live in Hiawassee, GA. When she isn’t practicing dentistry. Dr. Jo can be found spending time on the lake, hiking at Jack Rabbit trail, and cooking meals with her family. Dr. Jordana is honored to be in a practice that is tailored in serving the patients. Her main priority is her patient's overall health and wellbeing.
Tammy tanner
Registered Dental Hygienist
Tammy graduated from Union County High School in Blairsville, Ga and in 1985 attended Clayton State College in Morrow, Ga. She became a registered dental hygienist in 1989 and began her career in Blairsville . She worked full time until 1998, when she took time off to spend with her children. She returned to Dr. West's staff in 2005 and has been with the practice ever since. She enjoys her job and the relationships she has built with her patients over the years. Many of them have become like family to Tammy, which is why she is dedicated to providing the best care to patients. Tammy has 4 children: Cooper, Corbin, Hannah and Hope and attends
Harmony Grove Baptist Church.
Jaime Virgin
Dental Assistant
Jaime Virgin is our newest dental assistant to join Family Dentistry of
Blairsville. Jaime has recently moved to the Blairsville area and is excited to start her new journey here. Jaime studied at University of North Georgia and graduated from Nova Dental Assisting Program in 2019. In her free time, Jaime enjoys traveling, caring for her pets, along with spending quality time with family and friends. Jaime is beyond grateful for her new opportunity to grow in her skills
at Family Dentistry of Blairsville.
Yolanda Strickland
Receptionist
Yolanda is the receptionist here at Family Dentistry of Blairsville and has worked in the practice since 2005. Yolanda was born and raised here in Blairsville, GA and has worked in the dental field for 23 years. She schedules office appointments, answers phones, helps with insurance, and greets patients. She is blessed with two wonderful children, Chalonda and Cameron, and is also a massage therapist. Yolanda takes great pride in serving patients and making the office a comfortable and warm environment for everyone.
Cariann Anderson
Registered Dental Hygienist
Cariann (Busbee) Anderson is a native of Blairsville, Georgia and is
excited for her new role as a dental hygienist at Family Dentistry of
Blairsville. A 2022 graduate from Lanier Technical College, Cariann was named “golden scaler” for not only excelling in the classroom, but having the best clinical skills throughout her program. She loves traveling and doing life with her husband, Nile, and dog, Bentley. She also enjoys spending time with her family and friends and singing on the praise team at church. Cariann is humbled and excited to work with the amazing team at Family Dentistry of Blairsville and serve the people of her hometown.
