How often are radiographs necessary?

Full Mouth Series of Radiographs (FMX) is taken at your first visit (unless we receive updated FMX from your previous dentist) and are also updated every 3-5 years.
The frequency will be determined based on a risk assessment.


Panoramic Radiographs are taken to evaluate your entire bone and other anatomic structures to evaluate development and position of teeth.


Bitewing Radiographs are taken 1x a year. These show detail in between the teeth and help us find cavities and other tooth defects.

How can I get radiographs transferred from my previous dentist?

Prior to your visit, contact your previous dentist, you may need to sign a form to have your dental records released. Please understand that even if we received your radiographs from your previous dentist they need to be up to date.
